Washbelly is a term I appropriated from the culture of Jamaica with which I am intimately aquainted. It can have a couple of different meanings depending on who you speak to. Like a lot of things in Jamaica there is a polite version and a not-so-polite version. This is the ghetto version, marked 'not for export'. Washbelly is the last child out of a woman. The runt of the litter. A person made out of the left-overs. The scraps. The wash of the belly. I am Washbelly.
